As a solo artist and as the lead singer of The Babys and Bad English, John Waite was a fixture of album-oriented rock radio stations during the 70s and 80s. He had a talent for power ballads and driving arena rock, occasionally touching on new wave styled power pop as well. Several of Waite’s songs, including “Missing You,” The Babys’ “Isn’t It Time,” and Bad English’s “When I See You Smile” became radio staples.

The 1959 classic film “Pillow Talk” was the first film pairing of Rock Hudson and Doris Day. Day plays an interior designer forced to share a phone line with Hudson, who is a playboy songwriter. They presume they hate each other, until Hudson sees Day with their mutual friend, played by Tony Randall. Intrigued, he pretends to be a visiting Texan, meets her and sweeps her off her feet. The romantic escapades that arise are screen classics.
“Pillow Talk” was heavily nominated for Academy Award honors, winning the Oscar for Best Writing, Story and Screenplay written directly for the screen.
A concert on the theatre’s historic four-manual Aeolian-Skinner organ precedes the film at 1:30 PM.
We highly recommend coming for the organ concert prior to the film. Going to the “shoe box” cinemas in malls these days leaves a lot to be desired. Going to a classic film at the spectacular Hershey Theatre is an experience, and the organ concert on the Aeolian-Skinner organ, set to rival that of Radio City Music Hall’s….is quite an experience!
And, top off that experience with a wonderful mid-week stay at the Annville Inn Bed and Breakfast, and enjoy five star luxury country estate in the beautiful Lebanon Valley, just minutes from Hershey Theatre.
