We share with our readers some of our favorite lodgings, discovered through our travels. We also list a few of our favoriate organizations:

Inns, Hotels & Regional Attractions

Alaska
White Mountain Pass & Yukon Route Railroad, Skagway - We recommend this railroad to anyone visiting Alaska.  It was one of the highlights of our trip to the Skagway region.

Arkansas
The Crescent Hotel, Eureka Springs -Craig and I honeymooned in Eureka Springs and we have returned many times to this famous botique hotel,

California
Hotel Monaco, San Francisco - San Francisco is full of botique hotels, here is another one from the same organization that opened the old Tariff Building in DC.
The Hayes Valley Inn, San Francisco - This botique hotel is in the Hayes Valley section of San Francisco.

Maryland
The Hopkins Inn, Baltimore - One of many excellent bed & breakfasts in the Baltimore area.

New Hampshire
Mount Washington Resort, Bretton Woods - If you are going to be in New Hampshire, you must stay here. We love this hotel, set at the base of Mount Washington.

New Mexico
While with the Smithsonian, Craig spent a lot of time in SantaFe.  We have spent many a happy hour going back to SantaFe on our own, eating in wonderful restaurants, staying at hotels that are the epitome of the Southwest, and visiting SantaFe's famous galleries.  The following links are some of our favorites:
LaFonda Hotel
Hotel SantaFe
Inn & Spa at Loretto
Ten Thousand Waves

Washington, DC
Hotel Monaco - Craig used to walk past the Tariff Building, a beautiful columned building, covering nearly half a block, every day on his way to work. The first telegraph was sent from this building, it was full of history. For over 30 years, the Government kept boarded it up. Then a botique hotel group from California persuaded the Federal Government to lease the building to them, they did a world-class restoration, and now the building is opened as one of the most magnificiant hotels in Washington.
The Morrison Clark Hotel and Restaurants - A favorite haunt of our's in Washngton, DC.
L’Enfant Plaza Hotel - Craig's Smithsonian office was in the office building above this hotel, and it was from here, in front of the hotel, on that tragic day, September 11th, that he watched the smoke rising from the Pentagon.

London, England
London, what an eclectic place to visit!  Here are a couple of very clean, well known hotels to consider:
Park Palace Hotel
Rubens At the Palace Hotel

Other Links

American Rose Society - I love roses, and Craig enjoys growing them.  At Hershey Gardens, there are 7,500 roses. At Annville Inn, there are nearly 400.

Scriptoria - I wouldn't trust our website to anyone else. Scriptoria designed our logo, stationary, website and does all of our print ads.
